Sophomore Kelli Kennedy (Henry, Ill./Henry-Senachwine) was the third-place medalist as the Carl Sandburg College women’s golf team competed against Danville Area on Sunday at Ironwood.
Kennedy’s 96 was the low score of the day for Sandburg and left her one shot back of DACC’s Corinne Moore for second place. The Jaguars’ Mackenzie McCoy was medalist with an 87.
DACC fielded just three players, so the teams competed only as individuals.
Sophomore Rylee Liles (Hennepin, Ill./Putnam County) shot a 99, and sophomore and Elizabeth Whitford (Dahinda, Ill./Galva) carded a 101 for the Chargers. Freshman Samantha Soleta (Prophetstown, Ill./Prophetstown) shot a 116 while freshman Averi Heintzelman (Sterling, Ill./Sterling) had a 117 for Sandburg.
